Spirit

A stand-alone modern romance where two is company, but is three a crowd?

When Louisa Scott moves to Portsmouth to get away from her abusive ex-boyfriend and finish her degree, moving in with her brother’s friend seems like the perfect solution. Ryan Walker is protective and fun, she trusts him and, sure, they went out for a while, but that was years ago. Right now he’s the best friend she needs while she’s getting her life back on track. Louisa isn’t looking for a relationship and Ryan understands that, even if the persistent and mesmerising Matt Jameson doesn’t.

Matt and Louisa soon become friends; he may appear to be her perfect man and the attraction between them sizzles, but that doesn’t mean Louisa is going to let him get close, or that Matt is going to give up that easily. Louisa is still working through her trust issues, particularly when her ex keeps showing up, although she is keen to move on with her life.

Then Ryan suggests a solution over a game of cards that disrupts the balance of the trio of friends. Why don’t Ryan and Matt both help Louisa with her intimacy issues… together?

It’s not something that Louisa has ever considered before, but what’s the harm… it’s not like anyone is going to fall in love and get hurt, right?
