As Luck Would Have It - Book Review

Recommended Romantic Reads

Title: As Luck Would Have It

Author: Zoe May

Genre: Contemporary Romance / Chick Lit

The Blurb:

Natalie Jackson might keep up appearances on Instagram, but in reality her fiancé has just jilted her after the birth of their baby and she’s moved back in with her mum. Life isn’t exactly going to plan! So when she enters the village raffle for the holiday of a lifetime, she thinks she has no chance of winning. But her name is pulled out – and, as luck would have it, so is a ticket bought by her childhood nemesis: Will Brimble. Surely a romantic holiday for two is the worst idea ever...right?

My Review:

I really loved this book! I'm not usually keen on chick-lit but oh boy, this book had chemistry!!! More than enough to keep me engaged. Some funny bits and awkward moments were highly enjoyable and well thought out, especially in the spa and faking wedding photos. This book had a very low heat level, it was definitely a clean romance, but the sizzling connection and spark between the couple was so well written it wasn't necessary and I have to say, that is quite some achievement in my eyes and I applaud the Author.

Natalie is a strong character and I liked that she was an independent and successful woman, in addition to being a single mother, clearly an inspiration for many young women today.

I have to say, I rather fell for Will myself. What a great guy! Sexy, successful and above all else, a truly lovely personality. A book boyfriend to pine for.

The adventures to Marrakesh brought back many memories for me as the Author describes the environment with skill, allowing the reader to really be there with the characters through the environment and personalities they encounter.

I definitely recommend this book.
